A family that provides temporary care for a child while the agency works toward a safe, permanent living arrangement that supports the child’s well-being.
Formally and permanently places a child into a family other than their birth family, ending all legal ties to the biological parents and establishing full parental rights and responsibilities for the adoptive parents.

Fostering
A family providing temporary solution, meaning a child is placed with a foster family while the agency works towards a permanent solution for the child's well-being.
Requirements For Becoming a Foster Parent

Be at least 25 years of age

Be financially stable and responsible mature adult

Complete an application

Share information regarding their background and lifestyle

Provide relative and non-relative references
-
Show proof of marriage and / or divorce

Agree to a home study which includes visits with all households members.

Complete a criminal history background check and an abuse/neglect check on all adults in the household.

Attend training of foster parents is required by the Minimum Standards for Child Placing Agencies.

TB test will be required.
Training provides an opportunity for the family and Legacy of Love, CPA, LLC to assess whether foster care or adoption is best for the family. A family may withdraw from the meetings at anytime.
Adoption
Legally establishes a child as a permanent member of a familly other than the family the child was born into, severing the birth parents ties and creating a parent-child relationship between the adoptive parent and child.
Requirements for Adopting

Responsibilities of Adoptive Families

Provide permanent and a lifelong commitment to children into adulthood

Provide for the short-term and long-term needs of children

Provide for children's emotional, mental, physical, social, educational, and cultural needs according to each child's developmental age and growth.

May become certified as a foster family and accept children who are not legally free for adoption whose permanency plan is adoption
Kinship Care
Kinship care refers to placing children with relatives or close family friends when they cannot live with their birth parents.
Requirements For Kinship Care

Undergo a home study

Complete a criminal background check and abuse neglect history of all household member 14 and older
